The Brahmaputra speaks

Mighty Brahmaputra from the shores

Aha.. so you have come to visit me
Oh dear, how have you been?
See my waters have risen
Has been long that you were seen.


If you want it down and deep
Fishing in mesmerising sunset scenes
I say , O Brahmaputra, your waters glistens
Like you have got diamonds buried in.


Ha ha ha, he laughs at me,
Oh dear, can't you lessen your greed
I have got plentiful, only if
You can see the hills and me


See the boatmen out there
Rowing there boats, some catching fish
Look over there in the distance
Man's signature, the strong bridge.


Look at the towers on top of hills
Through me they have built connectivity
Small houses in the distance
To me they pray for longitivity.


Small water plants floating in me
I nuture them and fishes too
My depth is vast and so
Is my current and flow


I am called dangerous
Nobody who falls in me is ever saved
But like all loving parents
If you sit by me , I will aid.
